Ardyce Mary Zillges, age 97, of Oshkosh, will be lovingly remembered and celebrated after her passing on July 11, 2026. Born on December 22, 1928, in Omro, WI, to the late Ralph and Avis (Hackney) King.
On June 12, 1948, Ardyce united in marriage to Eugene Zillges, and together, they created a nurturing home for their five beloved children. As a dedicated librarian at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, Ardyce ignited a love for learning in many, sharing her passion for literature and knowledge with everyone around her.
Ardyce was an extraordinary cook and baker, famous for her delicious rolls, bread, and desserts that brought smiles to the faces of family and friends alike. Her meticulous gardening reflected her love for nature, and her adventurous spirit led her to explore the world. She was a faithful member of Bethany United Church of Christ, an avid reader, a devoted walker, and generously gave her time as a volunteer at the Paine Art Center and the Salvation Army.
Ardyce’s legacy continues to thrive in the hearts of her children: Linda (Steven) Harris, Larry (Diane) Zillges, David (Kathleen) Zillges, and Laureen (Peter) Mueller; as well as her grandchildren: Scott, Brett (Shannon) and Lane (Mei Chun) Harris, Dawn (Jeremy) Hamson, Jodi (Ryan) Pressgrove, Karisa (Brian) O’Rourke, Ericka (Will Broderick) Zillges, and Benjamin (Jaime), Jonathan, and Mark (Sierra) Mueller. She will also be fondly remembered by her many great-grandchildren and her sister, Phyllis Williams, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Ardyce was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Zillges; daughter, Kathleen; many siblings; son-in-law, Peter Mueller; daughter-in-law, Sara Mueller.
A memorial service for Ardyce will be held at Mueller Funeral Home, 904 E. Main St. Winneconne on Friday, July 17, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will take place from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be held at Lake View Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Salvation Army in memory of Ardyce, a cause she held dear.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Heartland Hospice, Chaplain Leslie and the wonderful staff of Oakwood Manor for the loving care provided to Ardyce throughout her time there. Your kindness and compassion will always be cherished.
