Obituary

Beatrice E. (Cowling) Becker, age 103, died Friday, June 3, 2016, at Bethel Home in Oshkosh. She was born in the town of Vinland on August 4, 1912, eldest daughter of Louis and Lillian Cowling. Beatrice married Chester Becker on August 15, 1935. They farmed together in the town of Clayton most of their married life. She was an active volunteer in many areas-during WWII she taught first aid classes and distributed ration coupons. Beatrice was active with the Grange and the Winnebago County Homemakers as well as being local and county leader of the 4-H. She was a volunteer in the gift shop at Theda Clark Medical Center for many years. Beatrice is survived by three daughters, Kay Wisnefske, Mary Alice Eisch, and Cheryl (Neil) Kibler, all of Larsen; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She is further survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Beatrice was preceded in death by her husband in October of 2000; five brothers, and five sisters. Beatrice was active at the First United Methodist Church, 108 W. Doty Ave. Neenah. A memorial service will be held there at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 7, 2016, where friends and relatives will celebrate a life well lived. There will be no visitation prior to the service. Memorials may be directed to the Larsen/Winchester Lions Club Medical Locker, the Winnebago County Homemakers Bookworms, and the First United Methodist Church, Neenah.
