Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Betty Lou Block, who left us on January 1, 2026 after a long battle with cancer. Born to the late Harold and Agnes Hazen on December 19, 1946, in Portage, Wisconsin, Betty was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, laughter, and the warmth of those who knew her.

Betty's journey included many roles- a devoted wife to her husband Jim for an incredible 57 years, a nurturing mother to Kevin, Christie, and Tracy, and a beloved grandma to nine wonderful grandchildren and one great-grandchild, Aurora. She was the kind of person who made everyone feel heard and valued, taking the time to listen to the stories of those around her and offering the right words to lift their spirits.A true Christian at heart, Betty's faith guided her through life. She faced challenges with grace and strength, always finding a way to uplift those she loved. She brought joy to many family members and friends through her generosity.

Her love extended beyond her immediate family; she was loyal to her siblings, Ken, Barbie, Dianne, Audrey, Roger, Chuck, and Lorianne. Betty was always there to help, lending a hand or sharing a moment of kindness with her neighbors.Betty will be remembered not just for her roles but for the warmth she brought into our lives. She truly was one of a kind-questioning, nurturing, unselfish, and always opening her heart to those in need.

Betty is survived by her husband, Jim; children, Kevin (Kristy), Christie (Brian), and Tracy, grandchildren, Richard (Bridget), Bradley (Ashliegh), Kara (Dylan), Karissa (Carter), Leo, Maddy (Bryce), Macey (Parker), Willow, and Violet; great-grandchild, Aurora; siblings, Ken (Denise), Barbie, Dianne (Chauncey), Audrey (Steve), Roger (Char), Chuck (Jean), and Lori (Scott); as well as sister and brother-in-law, Helen, and Russ (Diane) and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her foster parents, Wallner (Laura) Stratton; father and mother-in-law, William and Ruth; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Joanne, Mark, Tom, Cheryl, Ray, Dick (Mary), Geraldine (Dick), Carol (Ron); nephew, Keith and special friends, Shirley Wagner and Jeanette Wesner.

We invite all who knew and loved Betty to join us in honoring her memory. Visitation will take place at Mueller Funeral Home (Winneconne) on January 11, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The following day, January 12, there will be another visitation at Borth Community Church from 9:00 am until 11:00 am, immediately preceding the memorial service at 11:00 am.We will cherish her love, wisdom, and the happiness she brought to our lives.
