Blanche Hewitt Bowen Handley McAllen, Texas Blanche Hewitt Bowen Handley, age 97, passed away on Friday, October 9, 2009, in McAllen, Texas. She was born December 17, 1911, in Greenville to Julius and Helga (Skafte) Christianson, the third of four daughters. During the past 55 years, Blanche was a resident of McAllen. She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Nancy Hewitt, of McAllen; one grandson, Douglas "Bo" Hewitt, of Piedmont, South Dakota; and many nieces and nephews. Blanche was preceded in death by her son, William Hewitt; her parents; three sisters, Grace, Ramona, and Vonda; and three husbands, John "Jack" Hewitt, Sr.; Ralph Bowen; and Clay Handley. A Private Funeral Service was held on Monday, October 19, 2009, at Mueller Funeral Home, Winneconne, and Pastor Dan Luett officiated. Interment was in the Winneconne Cemetery.
