Bruce A. Bohner, age 99, of Winneconne, died Tuesday, October 5, 2021, at home. He was born May 1, 1922, in Syracuse, New York to the late Fredrick and Mildred (Bourne) Bohner. Bruce served his country during World War II with the U.S. Air Force 388th Airborne Division, working as a B-17 airplane mechanic and crew chief. He was a private pilot and member of the EAA. Bruce was a charter member of the American Legion in Lyons, New York. On October 25, 1977, he married Gail Scovel Zeinert. Bruce was a farmer and was in agricultural sales at Wentzel Ford in Winneconne. He had his own band, the Country Ramblers, and taught guitar. Bruce enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, and camping. He and Gail did much traveling, seeing much of the country, including a favorite trip to Alaska in 1994.
Bruce is survived by his wife of almost 44 years, Gail Bohner; a daughter, Rev. Barbara Sanson; stepchildren, Cheryl (Randy) Marx, Steven (Laura) Zeinert; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Along with his parents, Bruce was also preceded in death by a brother, Fredrick "Bud" Bohner; a sister, Mary Muckey; and two dogs, Jud and Rusty.
Per Bruce's wishes, a private graveside service will be held at the Plummer Cemetery, town of Oshkosh.
