Carl Stamm Jr., 90, of Winneconne, passed away at home on Sunday, September 8, 2019, with his family by his side. He was born in Milwaukee on April 21, 1929, to Charles and Henrietta (Koch) Stamm.

Carl served his country in the U.S. Army. He was stationed at Valley Forge, Pennsylvania at the end of his service when he met the love of his life, Eileen Marlin. She was serving the last of her military service, also in the Army. They were married six weeks after they met and stayed together for 58 years until his love passed away.

Carl was stone mason, or as he would say, a bricklayer. There are many examples of his excellent work throughout the Fox River Valley; from commercial buildings to private home fireplaces. Right by his side was his good lifelong friend, also an accomplished stone mason, Butch Kiel. A long history of friendship that Carl cherished.

Always active, Carl was still cutting his lawn at 90. He loved to fish and hunt, play golf, and always had a project at home.

The highlight of Carl's day was having coffee with "the boys" at The Landing in Winneconne. He will always be at morning coffee in spirit with Mike, Dale, Butch, Al, and the rest of the boys.

Preceding Carl in death were his parents; six siblings; his wife, Eileen; and daughter-in-law, Mickey Stamm.

Carl is survived by his son, Bruce Stamm (Sue Chapman); daughter, Maureen Gruenberg; grandchildren, Kirby (Julie) Ketola, Carl (Jodi) Stamm, Anna Williams (Joel Barbian), Megan Stamm (David) Reetz; many great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers include: Kirby Ketola, Carl Stamm, Joel Barbian, Dave Jacob, Dale Ahrens, and David Reetz.

Carl's heaven on earth was the east shore of Lake Winneconne, and he enjoyed it for 50 plus years.

A visitation for family and friends will be on Friday, September 13, 2019, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Mueller Funeral Home 904 E. Main St. Winneconne. A prayer service will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will follow at the Winneconne Cemetery.

Thank you to all friends, family, and neighbors who added joy to Carl's life. A very special thank you to Al and Deb Ebben who were the best friends to Carl; always there to love and assist and bring him home cooked meals. We will miss him dearly.
