Carlene A. Verkuilen, 93, of Winneconne, peacefully passed away at home into the kingdom of heaven on Thursday, December 7, 2023. She was born on April 3, 1930, in Highland Park, Illinois to the late Earl and Blanche Smith.

Carlene is survived by a son, Richard; daughter-in-law, Doreen; grandchildren, Derek, Evan and MacKenzie, Chad; and one great-grandson. She is further survived by many loving friends and members of the Verkuilen family.

Along with her parents, Carlene was also preceded in death by her husbands, Wallace "Wally" Johnson and Alvin Verkuilen; her long-time partner, Gale Imhoff; a brother, Paul; and a son, Keith.

A visitation for family and friends will be on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Mueller Funeral Home 904 E. Main St. Winneconne. A prayer service will be held on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at a later date at the Winneconne Cemetery.
