David “Courtney” K. Hale, 69, of Larsen, died Friday, June 26, 2026. He was born in Oshkosh on May 25, 1957, to Kenneth and Carol Hale. Courtney was a 1975 graduate of Winneconne High School. On June 30, 1989, he married Mary Zellmer Peterson. Courtney and Mary enjoyed traveling and wintering in Florida. He loved spending time with his grandchildren fishing, boating, and watching all the activities they were involved in.

Courtney is survived by his wife of 37 years, Mary Hale; his mother, Carol Hale; two stepsons and their families, Miles Peterson (fiancée, Lindsey) and their children, Adalyn and Maveryk Peterson, Ray Harwick, Isla and Lena Brady; Jared (Roxanne) Peterson and their children, Angus, Sylus, and Eloise Peterson. He is also survived by a sister, Kathy (Mike) Bouras; in-laws, Charles Duma, Roger Zellmer, Susan Vernon, Ruth Zellmer; special friends, Patrick “Loafer” Lux, Patrick “Ace” Coughlin; nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives, and friends.

David was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Hale; a sister, Marcia Duma; and a brother-in-law, Tom Zellmer.

A visitation will be on Saturday, July 11, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at Mueller Funeral Home 904 E. Main St. Winneconne. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 11 at 12:00 noon at the funeral home with Pastor Ben Berger officiating. Inurnment will follow in the St. Peter’s #2 Cemetery, Winchester.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established for the Winneconne Marble Park Reimagined community project.
