Debra J. Manock, age 62, passed away at Aspire Senior Living on Saturday, April 4, 2026 after her 9-year battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. She was born to the late Dennis and Sharon (Gebhardt) Gunkle on December 8, 1963, in Milwaukee. Deb later married Rodger Manock on July 22, 2017.
Deb graduated from Omro High School in 1982. Shortly after graduation, she worked for M&I Bank for a short period before she took her longtime position at the Winnebago County Sherrif’s Office 911 Dispatch. She made many lifelong friendships with the local law enforcement & emergency services throughout her many years of working for the county.
Deb was a master gardener, as well as a beekeeper. She thrived outside like the many plants and flowers she cared for. She had a love for musicals, going to the PAC with her daughter as season ticket holders often. She was a lover of all animals she crossed paths with, especially her chickens she was very fond of. Deb loved to get together with her family and friends and spend as much time with them as she can.
Deb is survived by her husband Rodger; children, Alex Remer, & Melissa (Ryan) Miller; grandson, Leland Miller; siblings, Christine “Chris” (Mark) Troudt; David (Heather) Gunkle, & Craig (Stephanie) Gunkle. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, and special friends.
A memorial service for Deb will be at Mueller Funeral Home (904 E Main St) on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at 11AM. A time of visitation will be held from 9AM until the time of service.
The family would like to thank the staff at Aspire Senior Living as well as at Aseracare Hospice; especially Tammy and staff, for all the loving care they gave to Deb. The family would also like to say thank you to the Fox Valley Memory Project. This program has done so much from the time Deb was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer’s up until her time of passing; giving Rodger and her children the support they needed to care for Deb as much as they could. If you or a loved one is suffering from Memory Care Diagnoses; please reach out to Fox Valley Memory Project (920)225-1711.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Fox Valley Memory Project.
