Obituary

Dennis Dwayne Larsen, age 56, of Omro, Wisconsin, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 28, 2026.

Dennis was born and raised in Oshkosh, where he attended Lourdes High School before earning his bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh. He proudly served his country in the United States Army as a chief warrant officer and helicopter pilot, dedicating more than 13 years of his life to military service.

Following his time in the Army, Dennis became a successful business owner, operating a pool store for over 20 years. Known by many as a backyard aquatic specialist, he helped countless families create spaces filled with joy, relaxation, and lasting memories. He later transitioned into a career as a sales representative in the roofing industry with ARC, where he continued to build strong relationships and earn the respect of those he worked with.

Above all, Dennis was a devoted and loving father. He raised six children and opened his home and heart to dozens of foster children over the years. Known as the “fun parent,” Dennis had a gift for turning everyday moments into unforgettable adventures. Whether it was buying goats on a whim, creating a massive slip-and-slide from a pool liner, taking family trips, or spending summers camping, he made life exciting and full of laughter.

One of his most cherished creations was building a life-size Barbie Dream House—complete with a pool—transforming his home into a place of imagination, joy, and belonging. His creativity, generosity, and humor left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

Dennis will be deeply missed by his children, extended family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be remembered for his hardworking nature, his dedication to serving others, and his remarkable ability to connect with people. Dennis had a way of bringing people together and leaving a lasting impact wherever he went.

His family was his whole world, and he poured his heart into making life fun for everyone. His legacy lives on in the countless memories he created and the many lives he impacted. Dennis was preceded in death by loved ones who welcomed him with open arms.

A celebration of life will be held on Monday, April 6, 2026, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Brighton Acres 4057 Fisk Ave. Oshkosh, Wisconsin, with military honors to be performed at 3:00 p.m.
