Diane E. Romberg, age 58, of Winneconne died Friday, April 25, 2014, at home. She was born July 11, 1955, in Oshkosh to the late Wayne and Florence (O'Connell) Romberg. Diane was a 1973 graduate of Winneconne High School and earned a tailoring degree from Milwaukee Technical College. She had been employed at Jeffrey's Clothing Store, and then worked various mill jobs, all the while doing tailoring work on the side. Diane had a love of animals, especially dogs, and enjoyed gardening and music. She had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone. Diane is survived by one brother and sister-in-law, Dr. Robert and Margaret Romberg, of Vernon Hills, Illinois; and their daughters, Sarah Romberg, and Laura (Brendan) Roth; one sister and brother-in-law, Patti and David Biggar, of Winneconne; and her son, Christopher Handel; and many other relatives and friends. Along with her parents, Diane was also preceded in death by her fiancé, Donald Jelden. A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, May 1, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 210 Pleasant Dr. Winneconne, with Fr. Michael Warden and Sr. Pam Biehl officiating.
