Dianna L. Gwiazdzienski, of Winneconne, passed away peacefully early Wednesday morning December 30, 2020, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by family. She was 67 years old. On September 1, 1973, Dianna married the love of her life. She is survived by her beloved husband Roger; they were married for 47 years.
Dianna was born to Joseph and Dorothy (Knever) Rutkauskas on February 18, 1953, to a family of nine siblings.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Carolyn Russo; and a brother, Thomas Rutkauskas.
Dianna is also survived by her brothers, Joseph Rutkanskas, of Plymouth, WI; James Rutkauskas, of Fremont, WI; John Rutkauskas, of Oshkosh WI; and sisters, Victoria (Babe) Beilfuss, of Fremont, WI; Judy Liggett, of Greenleaf, WI; Dorothy Jo (Paul) Sadowski, of Marinette, WI; and Rosemary (Ron) Erdmann, of Fremont, WI; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
In 1974 Dianna and her husband Roger moved to Chassahowitzka, FL where they co-owned the Chassahowitzka River Lodge in the Homosassa, Florida area for 6 years, along with her sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Nick. Dianna and Roger then moved to Winneconne in 1980, where they co-owned the Marble Park Lanes Bowling Alley with her brother James until retirement in 2002. For several years she oversaw the Riverside Apartment Senior Citizen Nutrition Center. Dianna was very active in the community as a volunteer and was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. She was an accomplished artist, known for her beautiful paintings of nature, especially the Lake Poygan area.
Dianna is remembered as a loving wife, aunt and sister. Her absence is greatly felt by all who knew and loved her.
A visitation for family and friends will be on Tuesday, January 5, 2021, from 10:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Mueller Funeral Home 904 E. Main St. Winneconne. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Sr. Pam Biehl officiating. Burial will follow in the Wolf River Cemetery, Fremont.
In lieu of flowers, an art student scholarship is being established in Dianna's name at Winneconne High School.
