Obituary

Donald E. Lee, age 70, of Oshkosh, died Monday, June 11, 2018, at home. He was born October 4, 1947, to the late Leland and Marion (Craig) Lee. Don attended the White Grade School and was a 1965 graduate of Omro High School. Don served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He earned Bachelor of Science degrees from UW-Oshkosh in Community Education and Nursing, and in 1982 a diploma from the Mercy School of Nursing. From 1982 until 1998 Don was employed at Mercy Medical Center, Oshkosh and from 1998 until 2010 with Winnebago County Human Services. On September 24, 2004, he married Joan Elandt at St. Raphael's in Oshkosh. He enjoyed gardening, traveling, playing sheepshead with other retired friends and family, and liked trips to the casino, especially with his brothers Bob and Gary. Don was a member St. Raphael the Archangel Catholic Church, Oshkosh. Don is survived by his wife, Joan Lee; two sisters, Janet O'Keefe, of Omro; Dianne Kallas, of Waukau; two brothers, Robert (Kathy) Lee, of Winneconne; Gary (Sue) Lee, of Winneconne; his stepdaughter, Carissa Elandt (Luke Hemminghaus), of Oshkosh; mother-in-law, Dorene Michlig, of Colby; brother-in-law, Robert (Jamie) Michlig, of Colby; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Along with his parents, Don was also preceded in death by two brothers, Richard "Dick" Lee and Howard "Howie" Lee; two brothers-in-law, Richard Kallas and Robert O'Keefe; and his father-in-law, Jerome Michlig. A visitation for family and friends will be on Saturday, June 16, 2018, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Mueller Funeral Home 904 E. Main St. Winneconne. A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Fr. Tom Long officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the Waukau Cemetery.
