Donald E. Schneider, age 92, formerly of the town of Vinland, died Tuesday, September 19, 2017, at Lakeshore Manor in Oshkosh. He was born September 17, 1925, to the late Edward and Dora (Erdmann) Schneider. On May 21, 1949, Don married Betty Jane Domer in Oshkosh and they made their home in the town of Vinland. For many years Don farmed as well as working for American Can where he retired from. Don was a member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, Oshkosh, and was a volunteer with the Vinland Fire Department. Don is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Linda and William Luce of Winneconne; one son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Terry Schneider, of Minocqua; four grandchildren, Aaron and Schaune Luce, of Winneconne; Travis and Catherine Luce, of Neenah; Eric and Kayla Schneider, of Neenah; Sara Schneider, of the town of Vinland; three great-grandchildren, Jordan and Mason Luce, Lydia Luce; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Along with his parents, Don was also preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Betty Jane Schneider; and a sister, June Swenson. A visitation for family and friends will be on Friday, September 22, 2017, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Mueller Funeral Home 904 E. Main St. Winneconne. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Jennifer Czarnota officiating. Burial will follow in Lake View Memorial Park, Oshkosh.
