Obituary

Dorothy L. Proehl, age 78, passed away on December 15, 2025, at Cherry Meadows in Appleton, Wisconsin, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born on April 29, 1947, in West Bend, Wisconsin, Dorothy was the daughter of the late Earl Little and Dorothy Little (Rymer). She devoted her career to administrative work and built a warm home with her husband, Marshall Proehl, where family always came first. A wonderful mother and grandmother, she lived for her family and turned everyday moments into memories.

A master seamstress, she crafted everything from curtains and clothing to costumes—and her handmade mittens remain a cherished testament to her love and skill.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Jodi (Phillip) Plagge; her son, Erik (Laura Koehn) Proehl; grandchildren, Chance (Aly) Proehl and Analeis Plagge; and great-grandchild, Ruth Proehl; along with extended family and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Marshall; and many more dear loved ones who went before her.

A memorial service for Dorothy will be held on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 8 S 4th St, Winneconne, WI, at 1:30pm. A time of visitation will begin at 12:30pm and continue until the start of the service.

Memorials may be directed to Wounded Warrior Project.
