Obituary

Elizabeth "Betsy" Borchert, 64, of Larsen, died Thursday, February 13, 2025, after a long battle with Parkinson's disease. She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones. Betsy was born August 13, 1960, to Donald and Arlene (Coenen) Netzel. After high school Betsy worked painting houses, at a candle shop, and at Kimberly-Clark for 13 years. On January 24, 1981, she married Jack Borchert. Betsy raised three sons while working for both family businesses, Borchert Farms and Larsen Materials. She loved gardening, decorating her home as well as her friend's homes, playing pool, gambling, traveling with friends to the Caribbean, Mexico, and the Bighorn Mountains in Wyoming. Betsy truly enjoyed time spent at the sandpit, snowmobiling, fishing, grilling, and just having a good ole time with family and friends. She would dress head to toe in Packer gear for Packer parties and every Packer first down was signaled with a "mooove the chains".

Betsy loved her husband, kids, and grandkids and wished she would have had more quality time with them. She will be remembered as easy going and fun loving and will be dearly missed. Surviving her are: her husband of 44 years, Jack Borchert; sons, Jeff Borchert, Joe (Katie) Borchert, Jake Borchert (Victoria); granddaughters, Kenadie, Keira, and Rylie. She is also survived by siblings, Dan (Barb) Netzel, Ellen (Jim) Sprague, Marty (Jodi) Netzel; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Betsy was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Arlene Netzel; and a brother, Mike Netzel.

A visitation for family and friends will be on Thursday, February 27, 2025, from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Mueller Funeral Home 904 E. Main St. Winneconne. There will be no service held. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Clayton Cemetery.
