Obituary

Erika L. Otto, age 40, of Neenah, died unexpectedly at home on Wednesday, January 24, 2018. She was a fighter but her anxiety and depression became unbearable and were too much to overcome. What happened to her does not define her. Her identity is not in mental illness and what it did to her. Erika's identity is in Christ Jesus, her Savior, her Redeemer. Erika is in His loving arms. Erika was a devoted loving and proud wife, mother, sister, and auntie. She was born October 26, 1977, in Milwaukee to William and Noreen (Konieczny) Kuczynski, and loved listening to Brewer games with her grandpa. Erika graduated from UW-Milwaukee with a degree in Education. She taught at U.S. Grant Elementary School in Milwaukee, at Davis Child Care Center in Oshkosh, and then went to work at OakPark Dental in Oshkosh before dedicating her life to being the best mom for her three loves. On July 3, 2004, Erika married Ryan Otto at Grace Lutheran Church in Winchester. She was an active member of New Hope Lutheran Church, Neenah, and had many close friends including her sisters in Christ. Erika was a mother to all kids, never judging anyone, and had a "Friends" connection to others. She always smiled when she remembered listening to the Brewer games and Polkas on the radio with Grandpa Al. She loved making memories at Big Hills Lake with her family and the recent vacation to Disney World. Erika is survived by her loving husband, Ryan; their three children, Molly, Lauren, and Jack; her brother and sister-in-law, Sean and Jennifer Kuczynski; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Tom and Patti Otto; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Shanna and Glen Krueger, Tyler and Ali Otto, Callie and Dave Patriquin; Grandmother, Carol Otto; nieces and nephews, Amiya, Maysen, Max, Kate, Liv, Bailey, Dawson, Tommy, Gordy, and Elsie; and other relatives and friends including her "sunshine" Jill, who all hold her in their hearts. Preceding Erika in death was her mother, Noreen Kuczynski; grandparents, Bousch and Papa; and an uncle, Dan Schuenemann. A visitation for family and friends will be on Saturday, January 27, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. until Noon at New Hope Lutheran Church 1850 American Dr. Neenah. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday at Noon at the church with Pastor Jeff Prewitt officiating. Inurnment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Neenah at a later date. Erika's family wishes to thank the staff of Christian Family Solutions and many others who were helping Erika, Pastor Jeff Prewitt and New Hope Church, the Neenah Police Department and all responders who assisted in this difficult time. If you wish pleases submit online condolences to muellerfuneralhomeinc.com.
