Obituary

Gary G. Gardner, age 70, of Winneconne, died peacefully at home on Tuesday, December 20, 2016. He was born July 8, 1946, in Milwaukee to the late William and Olive (Starke) Gardner. Gary was a graduate of Milwaukee Area Technical College. On April 22, 1972, he married Gail Hebert in Milwaukee. For many years he worked in automotive sales and electronics. Gary was a handyman, always tinkering with something, and he liked tearing down walls and remodeling. He loved his Corvette and enjoyed the rides with his fellow members of the Fox Cities Corvette Club. Gary truly loved spending time with his children and his pride and joys were his five grandchildren; the "3 Dollies", "Bo Man", and "Mr. T." He enjoyed watching their numerous activities and time spent boating. Gary was a member of Lord of the Lakes Lutheran Church, Winneconne, where he had worked as a custodian. Gary will be greatly missed and is survived by his wife of 44 years, Gail Gardner, of Winneconne; two children and their families, Gina and Dean Nikodem, and their daughters Paige and Sydney, of Butte des Morts; Guy and Cami Gardner, and their children Bo, Neela, and Theo, of Larsen. He is also survived by two brothers, three sisters-in-law, and a brother-in-law, Ken and Karen Gardner, of Pewaukee; Bill and Lois Gardner, of Winneconne; Patty and Marv Pohl, of Appleton; and nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. A visitation for family and friends will be on Thursday, December 22, 2016, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Lord of the Lakes Lutheran Church 6090 Harbour South (corner of Hwy 116 and Harbour South) Winneconne. Visitation will continue on Friday, December 23 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the church. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Pastor Kevin Heffernan officiating. Cremation will follow and inurnment will be in the Winneconne Cemetery. The family wishes to thank Dr. Klinkhammer, Dr. Gremminger, and LaDonna from Fox Valley Hematology and Oncology, the Affinity Hospice staff, and Pastor Kevin and their church family for all of the care, concern, and support shown to Gary and them, and a special thank you to Lyn Strohmeyer for being there in their time of need.
