Glen D. Mathison age 48 of the Town of Winchester, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday April 7, 2026 at his residence. He was born in Neenah on February 16, 1978, a son of Dean and Sharon (Whitney) Mathison.
Glen dedicated his life to being a volunteer fire fighter for 30 years for both the Town of Winchester and the former Clayton-Winchester fire departments where he was the chief since 2009. He was a member of Winnebago Firefighter Association, Winnebago Fire Chiefs Association, Northeast Wisconsin Safety League, and Winnebago County Fire Investigation, served on the Winchester Town Board, and was an administrator for Winnebago County Scanner Facebook page. For many years he was a truck driver for Johnson Trucking. He loved singing Karaoke, spending time at the cottage with family and friends, four wheeling, fishing, attending tractor pulls, and supporting his little ladies in all their activities.
He is survived by his little ladies Katie, Lindsey, Aubrey, Brielle, his mother Sharon Mathison, two sisters Kim (Brian) Ritchie, Amy (Gregg) Wilke, sister-in-law Jennifer Mathison, mother of Katie, Lindsey, & Aubrey, Lisa (Nick) Seelow, nieces, nephews, and his godparents Bob and Roxanne Breaker.
He was preceded in death by his father Dean Mathison, one brother Scott Mathison, his grandparents James and Joyce Whitney, Russell and Leona Mathison, His uncle & aunt Wayne and Shirley Mathison.
Funeral services will be held on Friday April 17, 2026 at 11:30 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church(8396 Steeple Hill Dr. Larsen Wi.) with Rev. Mark Laatsch officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday April 16, 2026 from 4-8 p.m and again on Friday from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. At the conclusion of the funeral Glen will be taken on a final ride with local fire departments accompanied by the immediate family
A memorial has been established for Glen’s little ladies.
The family would like to thank the Town of Winchester and Town of Clayton Fire Rescue Departments, the Winnebago County Sheriff's Department, Winnebago County 911 Dispatch Center, and the Winnebago County Medical Examiners office for their love and support.
