Glenn F. Hale Winneconne, Wisconsin Glenn F. Hale, age 81, of Winneconne, passed away Friday, August 6, 2010, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton, due to complications from surgery, with his family by his side. He was born June 15, 1929, in Oshkosh to the late Clarence and Hazel (Pohlman) Hale. Glenn served his country as a sergeant in the U.S. Army 7th Division Armor 73rd Tank Battalion during the Korean War. On December 3, 1951, he married Doraine Opperman at St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church in Winneconne. For many years Glenn was employed with Courtney & Plummer in Neenah, and he retired from Michels Materials in 1992. Following retirement Glenn and Doraine enjoyed many winters in Stuart, Florida. He was a member of St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church in Winneconne, and the Giles-Luce American Legion Post 364 in Winneconne. Glenn is survived by his wife of 58 years, Doraine Hale, of Winneconne; three children, Jackie (Bob) Ehmke, of Omro; Steve (Faye) Hale, and Ron Hale, all of Winneconne; six grandchildren, Shannon Ehmke, of Oshkosh; Jake Ehmke, of Dubuque, Iowa; Dan (Katie) Hale, of Oshkosh; Nikki (Gary) Schonscheck, of Oshkosh; Specialist Adam (Jewlz) Hale, of Ft. Bliss, Texas; Jim Hale, of Oshkosh; three great-grandsons, Cole, Ethan, and Fabian; one sister, Shirley (Dave) Clow, of Oshkosh; one brother, Bob (Renee) Hale, of St. Joseph, Missouri; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Carol Hale, of Winneconne; Floyd and Betty Opperman, of Winneconne; Tony and Shirley Opperman, of Hobe Sound, Florida; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. Along with his parents, Glenn was also preceded in death by two brothers, Herbert and Kenneth Hale; and two nephews, David and Michael Clow. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, August 9, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church, 8 S. Fourth St. Winneconne, with Pastor John Covach and Pastor Mark Albrecht officiating. Prior to the Memorial Service, a Tribute to a Veteran Service will be held. Inurnment in the Winneconne Cemetery will be held at a later date. A Visitation for family and friends will be on Monday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. A memorial has been established in Glenn's name for St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church in Winneconne. Glenn's family would like to thank the doctors and the I.C.U. nurses and staff at St. Elizabeth Hospital for all of the wonderful care and concern they provided to both Glenn and his family.
