Ina Mae
Remmel

Ina Mae (Haase) Remmel went home into Jesus' loving arms on May 20, 2024, at age 88. Ina Mae was born to Albert and Hattie (Kriesel) Haase on May 2, 1936, in the Town of Poy Sippi, Wisconsin. As a child, Ina Mae grew up on the family farm with her parents, brother, two sisters, Grandma and Grandpa Haase, and Great-Grandmother Mutter. She graduated from Omro High School in 1954. Ina Mae met her husband of 65 years, Gaylord S. Remmel, in youth fellowship. They were married in 1957 and went on to have four daughters: Karen, Gayla, Leann and Susan. They loved on twenty foster children, three AFS students, and a cousin in their home. They lived first in Appleton, WI and then moved to Neenah, WI, where they spent the next 40 years, before moving to Antigo, WI. Ina Mae and Gaylord wintered in Florida for many years. They recently lived in Oshkosh, WI. In addition to being a dedicated and loving wife and mother, Ina Mae loved everyone around her, taking care of everyone she came into contact with. She was a great homemaker, church leader and friend. She was a 4-H leader and sewing teacher. Ina Mae was PTO president. She loved music, dancing and sang with her siblings, and solos for church, weddings and funerals. Ina Mae sang in church choirs her entire life. She loved travel. She served in church in many ways. She loved to bake and made pies and doughnuts for everyone. She was a prayer warrior. She had the gift of hospitality and loved spending time with family and friends.
Ina Mae was a clerk at Newberry Co. in 1953. She worked at Rockwell Spring and Axle Co., as an IBM Key operator from 1954-1957. She then stayed at home as a homemaker. In 1978-1979, she worked at J.J. Keller and Associates as an auditor and key punch operator.
Throughout Ina Mae's life, she held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with those who surrounded her.
Ina Mae joins her husband, Gaylord; her mother; father; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Gertrude and Raymond Remmel; two brothers, Robert and Merlin Haase; sister, Donna Albright; brothers-in-law, Robert, Donald and Raymond Remmel, Melvin Albright; sisters-in-law, Audrey Remmel, Doris Remmel and Evelyn Haase, in Heaven.
She is survived by her daughters, Karen (John) Bruso, Gayla (Andrew) Lamers, Leann (Darryl) McElhannon, and Susan (Peter) Hickey; fourteen grandchildren, Erin Lenius, Katie McNeil, Krista Schram, Alex and Trevor Bruso, Shawn Bordeaux. Ashley Maloney, Aury, Connor and Brooke McElhannon, Monica Hickey, Meghan Thomas, Colin and Madeline Hickey, and their spouses and significant others; twenty-one great-grandchildren and four great-great- grandchildren; sister, Luella Remmel; sister-in-law, Marjorie (Jerry) Jankowski and many nieces and nephews.
She loved God's Word and singing God's praises. She is now singing God's praises in heaven!
A visitation for family and friends will be on Saturday, June 1, 2024, from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. at Faith Global Methodist Church 1025 Tullar Rd. Neenah. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 1 at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Pastor Tim Albrecht officiating. Burial will be in the Borth Cemetery, Town of Poy Sippi.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Ina Mae's name may be made to ASFV (Autism Society of the Fox Valley) or Faith Global Methodist Church in Neenah.
