Janice May (Zabel) Miller, 91, Appleton, passed away on Saturday, September 20, 2025. She was born on April 30, 1934, to the late Vernon and Cora (Bartel) Zabel in the town of Lind, Wisconsin. Janice was proud to say she was a farm girl. She was a graduate of Weyauwega High School. After graduation, she worked for AAL in Appleton. On May 30, 1954, Janice married Leland Miller. After her first daughter was born, she became a full-time wife and mother. When Janice wasn't visiting, thinking about or talking to her grandkids and great-grandkids, she would play cards with friends. She enjoyed crafts, walking at the mall, chair yoga, crocheting, coloring and later in life sketching.
Janice will be sadly missed by: two daughters, Deb Sieth of Oshkosh; Sandie Miller-Schreiter of Appleton; two grandsons who brought her great joy, Matt (Samantha) Sieth of San Francisco, California; Adam (Bryn) Sieth of Eau Claire; two of the sweetest great-grandchildren, Maxwell and Ginger Sieth; sisters, Phyllis (Gary) Schroeder, Carol (Billy) Schoenick; brother, Wilbur (Barbara) Zabel; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leland Miller; her parents; her sons-in-law, Richard Schreiter and Michael Sieth; two brothers, Kenny Zabel and Wayne Zabel.
A funeral service for Janice will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, 3009 N. Meade St., Appleton with Rev. Kemp Jones officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, October 11 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the church. Private entombment will be at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton.

A heartfelt thank you from Janice's family to the Saint Paul's Hospice staff. The care and love they provided was exceptional. It included a dream outing to the PAC to see Torme Sings Torme. They made our mom's final journey peaceful and joyful.
