JOHN SAMUEL LITTLE John Samuel Little, 85, passed away from cancer on November 16, 2011, at his home with his family by his side. He was born on January 7, 1926, in Chicago, IL, to the late Samuel and Bertha (Zacher) Little. He served his country in the United States Army from 1943-1946 during World War II in the Philippines and Japan. After he was discharged, John attended the County Normal School and the University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh where he received his teaching degree. He taught in the Winneconne School system from 1951 to 1988. In 1951, John married the love of his life, Alyce Miracle in Oshkosh, WI and moved to Winneconne, where they lived until his death. John's family includes his wife of 60 years, Alyce; 4 daughters - Gail (Bob) Anderson, Winneconne; Sue Jasperson, Menomonie, WI; Patty Little, Winneconne; Julie Schroeder, Weyauwega; 7 grandchildren - Nicole Anderson (Erik Pedersen), Shelli Anderson (Sonja Loges), Alyssa (Trevier) Foss, Matthew (Trish) Jasperson, Becky (Caleb)Bentz, Sara (Timothy) Leintz, Michael Schroeder; 5 great-grandchildren : Samuel & Leo Foss, Alyce, Arin & Leah Pedersen; 1 brother : Edmond (Albina)Little of Kansas, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Joyce Steinert, Oshkosh; Harvey (Nancy) Miracle, Auroraville, LaVerne (Paul) Ulrich, Florida, and Donna Mathias, Camp Douglas along with many nieces and nephews. Per John's wishes, a private family graveside service will be held on Friday, November 18, 2011, in the Winneconne Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established. John left this life the same way he lived his life...with quiet dignity, thinking of his family, on his own terms. He will be greatly missed. Mueller Funeral Home 904 E.
