June Caroline (Bahrke) Breaker, “June-Bug” age 98 of Neenah, passed away on Monday, April 20, 2026, at the Valley VNA assisted living where she had resided since December 2025. June was born on June 23,1927, the daughter of the late George and Clarice (Helgeson) Bahrke. She lost her mother at the age of 6 and her father at the age of 12. She graduated from Neenah High School with the class of 1945. On September 7, 1946, June married Raymond C. Breaker at Grace Lutheran Church, Winchester, WI
She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Prahl (Don), and daughter-in-law Linda Breaker; grandchildren, Mardell Breaker, Jenni Breaker, John Prahl (Dana), Michael Prahl (Jill), and Christopher Prahl; great-grandchildren, Daniel Breaker (Tianna Howe), Sydney Breaker (Kenton Chapman), Kiersten Prahl (Roger Seelow), Keali Prahl, Katelyn Brumbaugh, Abigail Brumbaugh, Jaxon Prahl, Bristol Prahl and Teagan Prahl; great-great-grandchildren, Bentley Thomas Chapman and Alaia Marie Chapman. She is further survived by many special nieces and nephews.
June was preceded in death by her husband Raymond C. Breaker (2020); sons, John R. Breaker (2022) and Thomas C. Breaker (2024); brothers and sisters and their spouses, Gladys (Wilmer) Borchardt, Leone (Bob) Vorpahl, Harold (Carol) Bahrke, Milton “Pudge” (Marcy) Bahrke, George (RaMona) Bahrke; sister-in-law, MaryJane (Jack) Alexander; special nieces, Marianne (Bahrke) Fauk and Sande (Bahrke) Swinko; special nephew, John Alexander. She was also preceded in death by many special longtime friends.
June worked for many years as a waitress at notably the Valley Inn, Neenah, North Shore Country Club, Menasha and for 37 years at Ridgeway Country Club, Neenah.
As a lifelong member of Grace Lutheran Church, June enjoyed helping with Sunday School, OWL’s (Older Wiser Lutherans), and serving on committees for potluck lunches or suppers, banquets and funerals. June enjoyed tying quilts with the women of the church even into her later years, walking from her home at Henrietta Retirement Apartments with her walker so she could be part of the group. She was also a member of the Leah Women’s Bible Study Circle.
June was also a proud member of the Winchester Area Historical Society, Larsen. She was featured in the 2023 It Takes Strong Women book written by the society. Thursdays became her historical society “library” day, where she hopped into her white 1986 Buick and headed to Winchester from her home on Larsen Road, Larsen to help where she was needed or just to socialize.
June was blessed with many special friends and neighbors who helped and visited her as she advanced in age. Namely: Lynn & Russ Simon & family, Dave & Jackie Salm & family, Lois Marotz, the Henrietta Retirement Apartment “family of residents”, the Staff at the VNA, and the Theda Care Hospice staff. You are all AMAZING and CARED so much about Mom. Thanks for being such a blessing.
Visitation for family and friends will take place on Saturday, May 2, 2026, 9:30-11:00 am with a memorial service at 11:00 am, at Grace Lutheran Church, 8396 Steeple Hill Drive, Winchester, WI 54947 officiated by Rev. Mark Laatsch. Interment will take place immediately after service in church cemetery, with a luncheon to follow at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Grace Lutheran Church, 8396 Steeple Hill Drive, Larsen, WI 54947 or to the Winchester Area Historical Society, 5270 Ann Street, Larsen, WI 54947 in June’s name.
Mom, it’s your time to rest in peace and love with our Savior and all your loved ones that have gone before you. We take comfort in knowing that you are finally HOME!
