June (Spanbauer) Wiechman, age 79, passed away on Monday, July 20, 2026, at her home. She was born on June 1, 1947, to Lawrence “Barney” and Marge Spanbauer. A lifelong resident of Oshkosh, she attended Sacred Heart Grade School and was in the 1965 graduating class of Lourdes High School. June attended the Fond du Lac School of Practical Nursing, graduating in 1966. For over 35 years she was employed at Mercy Medical Center, retiring in 2008.
June was a faithful member of Grace Lutheran Church for over 45 years teaching Sunday School and Jesus Cares, belonging to various church groups, and attending many Bible classes. She spent over 40 years checking out books and reading to the children in the school library.
Her greatest blessing was being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
June is survived by her children, Jeff (Beth) Wiechman, Holly (Randy) Flunker, Dan (Angela) Wiechman, Julie (Doug) Rieger; grandchildren, Claire (Daniel), Seth, Sam, Luke (Kealie), Kyle, Brooke (Phil), Kyra (Nick), Kalli, Karina, Emily (Dylan), Leah, Olivia, Charlotte; great-grandchildren, Theo and Natalie. She is also survived by a sister, Faye Gospodarek; sisters-in-law, JoAnn Wiechman, Eunice Gibson; the father of her children, Phil Wiechman; a special aunt, Bev Fretchel; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Preceding June in death were her parents; a brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Carol Spanbauer; in-laws, Ken Wiechman, Bill and Lois Polzin, John Gibson; and a niece, Nancy Gibson.
A visitation for family and friends will be on Saturday, August 1, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at Grace Lutheran Church 913 Nebraska St. Oshkosh. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 1 at 12:00 noon at the church with Pastor Chadwick Graham and Pastor Colin Rieke officiating. A private interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Oshkosh.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established for Grace Lutheran Church and School.
