Obituary

Larry L. Prell, 62, of Neenah, Wisconsin, passed away on December 10, 2014, at Theda Clark Hospital, with his family at his side. Larry died due to injuries he sustained from a fall at home. Larry was born on May 13, 1952, in Laona, Wisconsin, to Russell and Veronica (Kubis) Prell. Larry spent his childhood in Wabeno, Medford, and Madison, Wisconsin. As a senior in high school, Larry moved with his family to Eau Claire, where he graduated from Memorial High School in 1970. After high school, Larry attended and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Economics. While in college, Larry started working at UPS, and he ultimately made his career there. Larry also owned Prell's Schwinn Shop in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, from 1978-1984. In 1990, Larry and his family moved from Eau Claire to pursue a career in management with UPS. After 35 hard-worked years at UPS, he retired in 2007. Larry enjoyed a short retirement, but he soon got back into the workforce and began working as a TSO at the Outagamie County Airport where he worked from 2010-present. Larry is survived by his wife and best friend, Kathy (Rust) Prell. Larry and Kathy were proud to have celebrated 40 years of marriage together this past August. Larry is further survived by his daughter, Lisa (Ryan) Olson of Winneconne; daughter, Lindsey (Jonathan) Lewis of Estes Park, Colorado; son, Daniel Prell (Sara Nollenberg) of Neenah; parents, Russell and Veronica Prell of Eau Claire; sister, Jeanne (Bryan) Buzzell of Green Bay, and sister, Carol (Joe) Tracy of Eau Claire. Larry was an amazing grandpa to Hannah, Halen, and Emma Olson, and he was so excited to soon meet Lindsey and Jonathan's first child. Larry will also be missed by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Larry was preceded in death by his son, Michael Prell; grandparents, Jason and Frieda Prell; grandma, Armella Krahulec; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert and Elaine Rust; and many beloved aunts and uncles. Without question, Larry was extremely genuine, honest, hardworking, and witty. He certainly wasn't quiet or shy, but that was one of the great qualities that everyone loved about him. His deep, booming voice and infectious laugh are going to be missed by anyone who was lucky enough to know him. Family was the most important aspect of his life, and he made that very clear in conversations with friends, co-workers, and even strangers. Larry taught his family countless life lessons using his humor and compassion, and he always told his family how much he loved them. He naturally knew how to be a great son, father, brother, grandpa, and husband and did it so effortlessly. He was selfless in so many aspects of his life, always putting the needs of others before his own. A visitation for family and friends will be on Friday, December 19, 2014, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at St. Margaret Mary Parish, 620 Division St. Neenah, and will continue on Saturday, December 20 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the church. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Fr. Michael Ingold officiating. If you wish please submit online condolences to muellerfuneralhomeinc.com. Dad, although you're having fun in heaven with Michael, words cannot begin to describe how much we are going to miss you. You made all of us feel so loved. We know how proud you were of all of us, and we were so lucky to have called you ours. Love, Mom, Lisa, Lindsey, and Daniel
