Kriescher
March 25, 1952 – December 11, 2023
Lawrence Kriescher, Winchester, passed away December 11, 2023, surrounded by the love of his family, following a long battle with cancer. He was born March 25, 1952, to the late Clifford and Myrtle (Vannieuwenhoven) Kriescher. Larry graduated from Premontre High School in 1970 and continued his education at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and Northeast Wisconsin Technical College. He built himself a career as a land surveyor and operated his own LLC, L.C. Kriescher and Associates, until his retirement.
In 1976, he met, fell in love with, and married Barbara Ann Albers, daughter of the late Clem and Grace Albers. From then until his death, they made their home in Winchester, raising their children, gardening, fishing, and patronizing their favorite breakfast spots and supper clubs. Larry had a deep appreciation for local government and a strong sense of community, leading him to serve as a member of the Winnebago County Board and as a supervisor and chairman of the Town of Winchester. He was particularly proud of his part in establishing the Town of Winchester Fire Department in 2016.
Larry is survived by his soulmate and wife of 47 years, Barb; their daughters and their families, Samantha and Patrick Schmidt, and Vanessa Kriescher, Brandon Rogers and his son Cayson; his sister and brother-in-law, Karen and David Labine; his sister-in-law Sue Kriescher; Barb's siblings and their spouses, Sue and John Hansen, Pat and Patty Albers, Peggy and Steve Frelich, Paul and Valerie Albers, and Jayne and Mike Micksch; as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his and Barb's parents, Larry was preceded in death by their infant son, Gregory; his sister, Carol Kriescher; his brother, Ronald Kriescher; his brother-in-law, Peter Albers; and two nephews, Eric Labine and Jacob Micksch.
