Obituary

Lawrence C. Krueger, age 91, was reunited with his wife Miriam “Fritize” on Wednesday, January 21, 2026. He was born July 18, 1934, the son to Reinhold and Lydia (Mittlestead) Krueger. On August 2, 1958, he married Miriam Weidemman and together raised their son Larry J. Krueger in the Village of Winneconne. Lawrence served his country in the Korean War from 1954 to 1956 as a cook in the U.S. Army stationed in Alaska. Lawrence enjoyed hunting and fishing at his family cabin on Preachers Bend between Omro and Winneconne. He and Miriam also enjoyed winning raffles at various conservation dinners in addition to being an avid fan of NASCAR and the Packers.

Along with his wife Miriam, he was also preceded in death by his parents; brother, Reinhold Russell Krueger; sister-in-law, Judy Kapalczynski; and brother-in-law, Hartwell “Skip” Weidemann.

Lawrence is survived by his son, Larry (Amy); grandchildren, Nikole (Ryan) Braun, Ryan (Courtney) Krueger, and Rachael (fiancé Alex Bucholtz); great-grandchildren, Gavin and Kennedy Krueger, and Lilli and Levi Braun. He is also survived by his sister, Glady (David) Roland; sister-in-law, Maureen Krueger; nephews, Tom (Linda) Roland, Charles (Kelly) Roland and Steve (Teresa) Roland; and niece, Lora (Marty) Johnson.

Friends and family are welcome to celebrate Lawrence’s life on Friday, January 30, 2026, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church 8 S. 4th St. Winneconne, WI. Visitation will take place at the church between 9:00 and 11:00 a.m. with a funeral service beginning at 11:00 with military honors following. The celebration will continue after the committal service at the Winneconne Cemetery with a luncheon to follow back at the church.
