Obituary

Lois M. Gardner, age 86, of Winneconne, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, February 20, 2022, at Country Villa Assisted Living in Omro, where she was a resident for the last 10 months. She was born October 28, 1935, in Milwaukee to the late Joseph and Emily (Monday) Krebs. In 1956 Lois married her high school sweetheart, Bill Gardner, and they would be celebrating 66 years of marriage on February 25. Lois was a stay-at-home mom known for her picture-perfect smile, quick wit, amazing trivia brain, and spunk. For 30 years Lois and Bill spent their winters in Mesa, Arizona. She was a member of Lord of the Lakes Lutheran Church, the Winneconne American Legion Auxiliary, and the Order of the Eastern Star.

Lois is survived by her husband, Bill Gardner, of Winneconne; three children, Jeff (Sue) Gardner, of Milwaukee; Mark (Chris) Gardner, of Winneconne; Linda (Jim) Dunbar, of Winneconne; grandchildren, Nick Gardner, Al Gardner, Heather (Christopher) Smith, Ryan (Jodi) Gardner, Amanda Eake, Jason (fiancée, Stephanie Harder) Eake; ten great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

Along with her parents, Lois was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Michelle Oberdries; and a sister, Patricia Kupka.

A private family service and entombment will be held at Lake View Memorial Park in Oshkosh at a later date. Mueller Funeral Home-Winneconne is assisting the family.

A memorial will be established by the family for Dementia/Alzheimer's research in her name.

Lois' family wishes to thank the staffs of Country Villa and Heartland Hospice for the care they provided.

While her last years will be remembered because of Dementia and Alzheimer's, the years before hold very different memories. You may be gone from our sight, but you are never gone from our hearts. Rest in peace.

If you wish please submit online condolences to muellerfh.net.
