Obituary

Loretta Jean Dolske, age 97, passed away on the morning of Saturday, April 18, 2026. She was born in Omro, Wisconsin on May 31, 1928, to the late Albert and Daisy (Reed) Will and was the last of 12 children. She grew up in Omro and graduated from Omro High School in 1946.

Loretta married for the first time to Eddie Fromholtz, with whom she had one son, Steven. After Eddie passed away, she married Vernon Gilles who adopted Steve like his own son. After Vernon passed away, Loretta married Donald Dolske who passed away in 1981. She lived in the Ripon area for all of her married life until 1997 when she sold her house and moved back to Omro, later relocating to Oshkosh. She loved to crochet &knit as well as playing cribbage & sheepshead and going out to dinner with her friends from Ripon.

Loretta is survived by her son, Steve (Tammy) Gilles; two grandsons, Peter (Ember) & Inert (Katie) Gilles, two twin granddaughters-both born on her birthday, Katie (Ben) Galewski, and Kayla (Jake) Pence; nine great-grandchildren, Abby, Bristol, Alyse, Cooper, Sophie, Waverly, Chloe, Ava, Everett, and baby Galewski on the way. She is further survived by her many nieces & nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by her recent life partner and soulmate, Kenneth “Kenny” Zabel; as well as all 12 siblings, Burton, Charles (Mona), Roy (Pauline), Alva (Richard) Jacobson, Anna (Roy) Bucholz, Agnes, Gordon (Rosalie; Mary Ann), Dorothy (William) Hoffman, Lucille, Emily (LaVern) Fondel; & Albert (Arlyle) Jr.

A Mass for Loretta will be held at St Mary’s Catholic Church- Omro (730 Madison Ave) on Friday, April 24, 2026, at 11AM. A time of visitation will be held from 9AM until the time of service. A burial will be at St Patrick’s Cemetery in Ripon.
