Luella M. (Haase) Remmel, 96, left her earthly home on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at Aurora Medical Center in Oshkosh. She was born to Albert and Hattie (Kriesel) Haase on November 20, 1929, in Borth, WI. Luella graduated from Omro High School in 1946. Luella married her “one and only Raymond E. Remmel”. They were blessed with three daughters. Luella worked in the Northeast Association UCC office in Appleton for 27 years.
Luella loved music, singing harmony, especially hymns, in choirs or with family. She will be remembered for her love of flowers and gardening. She loved to bake, making donut balls and pies for her family, and she was known as The Evergreen Pie Lady.
Luella is survived by daughters, Patty (William) Martin, Michele (Scott) Pakenham, Lori (Steven) Reich; grandchildren, Jennifer (Michael) Durkin, Nicole (Thomas) Phillips, Matthew (Jennifer) Martin, Andrew (Whitney) Pakenham, Katherine (Justin) Sunderland, Annaka (Jordan) Companari; twelve great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Margie (Jerry) Jankowski.
Along with her parents, Luella was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Remmel; a son at birth; grandson, Riley Reich; siblings and in-laws, Raymond and Gertrude Remmel, Robert Haase, Merlin and Evelyn Haase, Melvin and Donna Albright, Gaylord and Ina Mae Remmel, Robert and Audrey Remmel, Donald and Doris Remmel.
The Celebration of Life will be held at Evergreen Retirement Community Chapel 1130 N. Westfield St. Oshkosh on Thursday, September 10, 2026, with Pastor/Chaplain Steve Wood officiating. Visitation at 1:00 p.m. and service at 2:00 p.m. A private inurnment will be held at the Borth Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Evergreen Foundation Benevolent Fund or Ethnos360 https://ethnos360.org/give Asia Pacific Helicopter Fund.
