IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Margery A.
Beer
February 28, 1939 – March 3, 2026
Margery A. Beer (Margie/Mickey), 87, passed away on March 3, 2026 in Neenah, WI. She was born on February 28, 1939 to the late George and Ruth (Benzing) Melk in Milwaukee, WI.
Margie was raised on a gladiola farm in Mequon, WI, working with her three brothers to assist their parents in growing and selling beautiful flowers for retail floral shops and at markets. She graduated from Messmer High School in 1957 and soon after met her husband of 62 years, Frank Beer. Married in April of 1959, Margie and Frank worked together to raise a family while working in their own businesses, from grocery stores to retail. Margie excelled in her final business venture of a One Hour Photo business with attention to detail and customer service. Most of their family years were spent in Ladysmith, WI, along with 3 years in Woodruff, WI, and finally retiring to their dream home in Gold Canyon, AZ for 17 years. In 2020 they moved to Manhattan, KS to live with their son Frank and his wife Jan, and after Frank Sr’s passing in November of 2021, Margie moved back to Wisconsin and resided in Waupaca.
Frank and Marge made many travel memories during their years of marriage. They enjoyed driving trips with their children and in later years with friends. They took many cruises, enjoyed Hawaii, and were able to travel abroad to Spain, Germany and Austria, and Australia.
Margery was a singer with a natural talent and beautiful voice that moved so many folks, especially at the many church services and funerals where she led the music. She passed on her love of music and singing to all of her children, with many of her grandchildren also using their singing talents in various ways.
Margie loved the outdoors and the summer weather. She also enjoyed animals, mainly dogs and horses. Her years with horses brought with it years of having many kids around the house to ride and for her children to participate in 4-H. In her retirement years, Margie took care of many dogs for her Arizona friends. Her beloved sheep dog of many years, Dolly, must surely be happy to be with her "person" again.
Margery is survived by her children Frank (Jan) Beer, Tom Beer, and Kathy Hammond (John). Grandchildren are Charissa, Lynn, Reid, Parker, Jeanie, and Jack, along with great-grandchildren Maddy, Aspen, Brooks, Benjamin, and Jackie, and a new great grand-daughter to arrive in May.
Margie was preceded in death by her husband Frank, son Joel, parents George and Ruth, and brothers Kenneth and Skip (George Jr). Her brother Skip met her in Heaven after passing only 24 hours earlier.
A celebration of life for Margery will take place at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Winneconne on Saturday, May 23rd, with visitation from 9:00-11:00am, and a funeral mass at 11:00. Mueller Funeral home is assisting with arrangements.
The family would like to share its gratitude to Karen Siewert of Community Care in Waupaca, Michelle and Orin of Care Partners in Neenah, as well as the entire staff of St. Croix Hospice, who took such loving care of Margie in her final weeks.
