Mary Frances Mathe Oshkosh, Wisconsin Mary Frances Mathe, age 90, of Oshkosh, died Thursday, December 1, 2011, at Park View Health Center in Oshkosh. She was born June 13, 1921, in Winneconne to the late Burt and Audrey (Bacon) Abell. Mary was a 1939 graduate of Winneconne High School, and in 1940 she graduated from the Appleton Cosmetology School. For 44 years Mary worked as a beautician, owning the Athearn Hotel Beauty Shoppe, and later working at Lori's and Lori's Magic Mirror retiring in 1982. On May 26, 1962, she married Frank R. Mathe at the Winneconne Baptist Church, and Frank preceded Mary in death on September 21, 2003. She enjoyed baking for family and friends. Mary was a member of the Emmanuel United Church of Christ in Oshkosh. Mary is survived by one sister, Audrey Jean (Richard) Bartelt, of Oshkosh; three nephews, Ken (Rita) Bartelt, of Oshkosh; Rick (JayJean) Bartelt, of Parrish, Florida; and Donn (Linda) Bartelt, of Oshkosh; one niece, Lori (Mark) Flemming, of O'Fallon, Missouri; nine great-nieces and great-nephews; two step-daughters, Mary Ann Hanson, of New London; Elizabeth Bracken, of Gaylord, Minnesota; four step-grandchildren; eleven step-great-grandchildren; and two step-great-great-grandchildren; A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, December 7, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. at Mueller Funeral Home, Winneconne, with Pastor Andi Wolf officiating. Inurnment will be in the Winneconne Cemetery. A Visitation for family and friends will be on Wednesday at the funeral home from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
