Michael J. Thompson, age 71, of Winchester, died Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at home. He was born August 23, 1951, in Neenah to Richard and June (Nelson) Thompson. Mike was a 1969 graduate of Winneconne High School. He served six years in the Army National Guard. Mike enjoyed fishing, playing cards and cribbage, feeding the deer and all of the animals near his home, and he loved listening to Johnny Horton songs, and pies, cookies, and sweets.

Mike is survived by his mother, June Thompson; his siblings, Barb (Joe) Schraven, David (Kim) Thompson, Denny Thompson, Jeff (Deb) Thompson, Terry Thompson, John (Jackie) Thompson; four daughters, Michelle (Dave) Hanseder, Colleen (Jim Gullickson) Thompson, Kelly Thompson, Holly (Brian) Crowell; grandchildren, Madisen, Trenton, Zaira, Jetta, Brandon, Scott Jr., Trevor, Hannah, Devon, Brittany, Zaynah; six great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Preceding Mike in death were his father, Richard Thompson; a son, Marshall Thompson; a sister, Pauline Thompson; a nephew, Jason Thompson; and his stepfather, Louie Peterson.

A visitation for family and friends will be on Saturday, March 11, 2023, from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. at Mueller Funeral Home 904 E. Main St. Winneconne. A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Mark Laatsch officiating. Military honors will follow.
