Mildred Millard passed away unexpectedly with her family by her side on Thursday, December 5, 2013, at Ministry Saint Michael's Hospital in Stevens Point. She was born December 8, 1920, in Clintonville to the late Herman and Amelia (Miller) Jannusch. Mildred was a 1938 graduate of Clintonville High School. She worked in Clintonville and Oshkosh until August of 1940 when she married Hayward Millard. They moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1941, returning to Oshkosh in 1944. For many, many years Mildred and Hayward farmed in the Hortonville and Winchester areas until their retirement in 1990, at which time they moved to Neenah. She also had worked for the William Fieweger family in Menasha for 44 years. In June of 2008 Mildred moved to Plover. She was an avid gardener, enjoyed watching birds, and was always baking and experimenting with new recipes. Mildred attributed her long life to healthy eating, daily walking, a good attitude, and her loving family, friends, and neighbors. She was a long time member of Grace Lutheran Church, Winchester, and its Naomi Circle. For the past five years she has been a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Plover where she was a member of the Agape Circle. Mildred was actively involved in the quilt group in both congregations and over the years she is responsible for pressing thousands of quilts made and donated for church missions. Mildred is survived by her three children, Bob (Gloria) Millard, of Neenah; Joan (Roland) Ratchman, of Plover; Hope (James) Reetz, of Plover; seven grandchildren, LouAnn Steffens, of Ripon; Nancy (Peter) VanDyke, of New Franklin; Lisa (Todd) Pitsch, of Menasha; Andrew (Jacci) Millard, of Neenah; Amy (Scott) Fisher, of Stevens Point; Eric Reetz, of Plover; Gina (Brent) Presley, of Stevens Point; ten great-grandchildren, Leah (Terry) Sonneberg, of Menasha; Cory (Alisha) VanDyke, of Green Bay; Stephanie and Heather Pitsch, of Menasha; Nathaniel and Austin Millard, of Neenah; Aidee, Zane, and Makenna Fisher, of Stevens Point; Astrid Presley, of Stevens Point; two great-great-grandchildren, Jackson and Ellie Sonneberg; one sister, LaVern (Alfred) Keller, of Clintonville; one brother, Raymond (Dorothea) Jannusch, of Marion; and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends. Along with her parents, Mildred was also preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Hayward, on March 8, 1997; an infant son; a grandson, Lance Steffens; two sisters and two brothers, Theresa (Elmer) Froemming, Elizabeth (Milton) Mavis/(George) Nueske, Albert (Marie) Jannusch, Roy (Barbara) Jannusch. A visitation for family and friends will be on Tuesday, December 10, 2013, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 2000 Roosevelt Dr. Plover. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the church with Pastor Ben Sheets officiating. Burial will be in the Grace Lutheran Cemetery, Winchester on Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
