Obituary

Patricia “Pat” Broderick, 89, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Pat was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, teacher, friend, and hostess extraordinaire. She shared 47 wonderful years of marriage with her husband, George, building a life filled with family, friends, laughter, and many cherished memories.

Pat devoted 28 years to teaching kindergarten at Winneconne Elementary School. She loved children and took great pride in helping her young students learn and grow. Generations of students and families remember her with great affection, and her impact on the Winneconne community extended well beyond the classroom.

When school was out for the summer, Pat knew how to enjoy life. She loved laying in the sun, golfing, boating, and spending time with her many friends. She was a wonderful hostess who loved entertaining, especially for her card club nights, where good friends, laughter, and plenty of conversation were always on the agenda. Her home was a place where people felt welcome and where friendships flourished.

Pat enjoyed traveling to Florida or to visit her children/grandchildren, making memories along the way. She appreciated the simple pleasures of being with friends, a round of golf, traveling to kid’s activities, a day on the boat, and most of all, the people she loved.

Pat is survived by her three children, Julie Kersten (Michael Washington), John (Laura) Broderick, and Dan (Michelle) Broderick; her grandchildren, Alex Broderick, Ross Broderick, Meredith Jaffe (Ethan), Courtney Broderick and her great-granddaughter, Rory Broderick.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday August 10, 2026 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Winneconne. Visitation will be held on Monday at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Inurnment will be with her husband at Winneconne Cemetery.

The family would like to recognize Pat’s nephew Steve Hendry and wife Marla as well as special friend Linda Rohm, who were a loving and important part of her life. We would also like to thank the staff at Lakeshore Manor and Moments Hospice for their kind and loving support.

Pat will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, friendship, sense of fun, and the love she gave so freely to her family and those around her. She leaves behind a lifetime of memories and countless people whose lives were made better because they knew her.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Winneconne Area Education Fund in honor of Pat Broderick.

She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
