Patrick S.
Krings
Aug 16, 1966 — Aug 3, 2026
For Patrick Krings, life was sometimes difficult and death was sudden. Patrick died unexpectedly on August 3, 2026. He was born on August 13, 1966, to Gerald and Jean Krings. He had been so looking forward to celebrating his 60th birthday!
Patrick faced many challenges growing up and was ultimately diagnosed with autism.
We knew he was different at a young age. While most four-year-olds would say they wanted to grow up to be a fireman or policeman, Patrick wanted to be a paleontologist and loved dinosaurs (he knew all their names) before the movies made them cool.
Patrick graduated from Winneconne High School and then took on and accomplished the goal of attaining an associate’s degree from UW-O.
Patrick possessed an amazing memory for dates. He also liked to share his impressive knowledge of the universe and astrophysics.
Patrick had a love of travel and loved the sensation that he experienced with flying. He attended many National NAMI conventions across the country. He proudly wore t-shirts from the location that he visited and loved to talk about his trips to Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Florida, Seattle and his multiple trips to San Francisco.
Along with his love of travel, Patrick found joy in a good cup of coffee and his favorite indulgence of steak and lobster!
Patrick is survived by his sister, Susan (Steve) Bohlssen; aunts and uncles, Jim (Sharon) Carpenter, Greg Carpenter, Linda Carpenter, Barb Fink and Kathy (Mike) Miller.
Patrick was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Karen Kay Halder.
A private celebration of Patrick’s life will be held by family.
Please remember Patrick by being kind and extending grace, compassion and understanding to others living with mental illness.
