Obituary

Bob Paffenroth, 82 of Winneconne, died April 7, 2015, at Omro Care Center. Bob was born October 27, 1932, in Oshkosh to the late Alvin and Peggy King Paffenroth. He attended school at the "old" high school in Oshkosh. In January 1951 he enlisted in the United States Air Force serving more than 20 years including the Korean and Vietnam wars. After retiring from the USAF in June of 1971 he worked for Oshkosh Truck for 15 years. On August 4, 1977, Bob married Lylalu Treleven. Bob enjoyed golf, bowling, politics, and cried when Obama was re-elected. Bob, like his wife Lu, loved reminiscing and spending time with the grandchildren. Bob is survived by his children, Susan (Darren) Putzer, Karen Paffenroth, Michael (Lisa) Rhyner, all of Oshkosh; and Roxanne Roehrick, of Winneconne. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Vanessa Putzer, Andrea Roehrick, Tyler and Brett Rhyner, Ryan (Shaya) Koss, Tara Schwertfeger; adopted granddaughter, Tawnie (Chuck) Winter; great-grandchildren, Aria Rhyner and Benytt Koss. Bob is further survived by his brother-in-law, David (Shirley) Treleven, nephew, Darrin Treleven; and special nephew, Jay Treleven. Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Lylalu; his parents; and his granddaughter, Courtney Roehrick. Bob was a member of Winneconne Masonic Lodge 186, 32 Degree Valley of Green Bay, Beja Shrine Temple of Green Bay, Winnebagoland Shrine Club, Veteran of Foreign Wars, NRA, and the Republican Party. He was a daily regular at Jackie's Parkside Restaurant in Winneconne. Cremation has taken place and in accordance with Bob's wishes, no memorial service will be held. The family will hold a private memorial at a later date. Special thanks to Joan Oleson and John Kosmer for keeping Bob going and to Jay Olson for his "care" packages and taking care of Ajay. Thanks also to Jan Treleven for her noon hour visits. The family also extends special thanks to the staff at Omro Care Center and to Chad, Kathy, Sue, Chaplain John and the two Jenns at Generations Hospice. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Robert F. Paffenroth Memorial Scholarship Fund at First National Bank in Winneconne, WI.
