Robert John Spiegelberg, of Neenah, passed away on June 30, 2015, at Theda Clark Regional Medical Center, Neenah. Bob was born June 13, 1943, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Appleton (Outagamie County), Wisconsin; he was the son of Elmer and Leola (Peterson) Spiegelberg. Bob was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Greenville. After high school Bob enlisted in the U.S. Naval Reserves. On August 1, 1964, he married Jean Ann Marohn at Trinity Lutheran Church, Neenah. They have been married for 50 years. Bob worked for The Menasha Woodenware and Oshkosh Truck in his earlier years, then as a maintenance mechanic/welder for Kimberly-Clark Corporation, Neenah for 25 years, retiring in December, 1998. Bob belonged to the American Welding Society for many years and was very active in the Larsen/Winchester Lions. For the past 15 years you could find him in the shop at the medical locker on Tuesdays. Bob loved fixing anything and had a natural talent for it. He put that talent to good use by helping repair medical equipment that was ultimately recycled back into the community. Bob served as Lion President in 2004, received a Melvin Jones award (highest award a Lion can receive) in 2010, along with a Burch-Sturm award for dedication and commitment to the Lions organization. Bob was a hunter, very conservation minded, and a very quiet and kind person who was just happy with life. He had a special relationship with animals, especially Harvey Cat, Samantha, Smokey, Suzette, and Abbie and his golden retrievers Penny and Puddle. He hunted for 51 years and loved to go to the woods to walk around and remember the years when he and his brother-in-law Felix and his cousins Dick and Jack Cole would hunt pheasants. Bob was a gardener and especially enjoyed seeing his iris come up in early summer. Surviving are his wife, Jean; a son, John (Shirley), Larsen; grandchildren, Savannah and Dustin; great-grandchildren, Serray, Brock, Madysen, and Emmett who was born June 20, 2015.
