Obituary

Robert Phillip Plummer, 86, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2022, after an incredibly full "well-lived" life. He was born July 13, 1935, in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, the youngest of 5 boys born to Mary M. (Schuster) and Earl M. Plummer, which earned him the nickname "Babe". He and his brothers owned and operated Courtney & Plummer, a ready-mix corporation founded by Jim Courtney and Earl Plummer. He was an incredibly unique man who loved camping, boating, fishing, old cars, snowmobiling, playing every piano he encountered (including those marked "Do Not Play") and above all, his family. An entrepreneur at heart, Bob's greatest accomplishments include developing Harbor Valley subdivision, a neighborhood where the hills truly came alive with the sound of music, purchasing and restoring the Skeleton Bridge one room school house that he attended as a child, and raising 5 independent children. Mose and Cecilia Belanger gave Bob permission to marry their daughter, Bonnie Belanger, and the wedding took place on February 4, 1961.

In addition to Bonnie, his supportive wife of 61 years, his legacy includes their children, Polly (Mark) Mottonen of Salt Lake City, UT, Elizabeth Binns of Columbus, OH, Linda (Jay) Gross of Muskego, WI Mike (Ruth) Plummer of Winneconne, WI and Katie Plummer of Sheboygan, WI. He is the proud grandpa of Maria (Andre), Alex (Laurel), Will (Katie, fiancée), Miles, Anna, Meghan, Max, Jack, Riley and one special great-grandchild, Cecilia Grace. Also survived by brother-in-law Jerry (Diane) Belanger; sisters-in-law Greta deJong, Carol Plummer and Verla Plummer; several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends, including friendships made through the Fox Valley Thunderbird Club and Cruising Paths Snowmobile Club.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Mary; brothers: James, William, Charles and Thomas; granddaughter Hayley Plummer; nephew Ned Plummer; and son-in-law Eric Binns.

Family will receive friends Saturday, March 19, 2022, at Mueller Funeral Home, 904 E. Main St., Winneconne, WI from 11am-12:30pm with a time of sharing beginning at 12:30pm; inurnment to follow at Plummer Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to an endowment fund set up for the benefit of maintaining the Skeleton Bridge School. Please contact the family for details. Visit www.muellerfh.net to share a memory with the Plummer family or to offer condolences.

Special thanks to all of Bob's doctors and caregivers who have assisted him throughout the years, as well as to his nephew Pat, who never failed to step up to the plate.
