Ronald W. Thrun passed away peacefully in the arms of his loving family, on August 10, 2018, at Webster Manor in Omro, where he has resided for the past 7 years. Ron was born on July 12, 1934, in Chicago, IL, grew up in Monee, IL and graduated from Crete-Monee High School. On August 25, 1956, he married Alice Sovet and they lived in Monee until 1961 when they moved their family to the Winneconne area. Ron was employed with Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources for 26 years. He was an avid outdoorsmen, enjoying hunting and fishing in the area. He is survived by his four daughters and their families: Leah and Kevin Patrick, Winneconne; Charity, Todd, Keegan and Riley Carroll, Lakeland, TN; Casey, Jennie, Olivia, and Mason Patrick, DePere, WI. Cathy and John Phillippi, Charlotte, NC; Megan Phillippi and Andy Kuester, Washington, DC; Joseph and Kristen Phillippi, Bowler, WI; Patrick and Emily Phillippi, Watertown, NY. Peggy Thrun, Sevierville, TN. Evonne and Peter Schultz, Green Lake, WI; August Schultz, Seattle, WA; Gunnar Schultz, Green Lake, WI. Ron is also survived by his sister, Jean Stelter, Manteno, IL; brother, Leroy Thrun, Jr., Steger, IL; and nieces and nephews from Illinois and Wisconsin. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice; parents, Leroy and Ethel Thrun; and sister, Grace Murphy. A memorial service will be held at the home of Leah and Kevin Patrick.
