Obituary

Ronald “Ron” R. Zehner, age 92 of Oshkosh, passed away on September 28, 2026, at his residence. He was born on August 9, 1934, to the late Ralph and Milda (Frye) Zehner.

Ron tied the knot with the love of his life, Kimberley Albright, on May 22, 1976, at Grace Lutheran Church in Winchester. He found joy in many things, but nothing quite matched his passion for driving. He hit the open road at the young age of 16 and didn’t stop until he retired at 75. His journeys took him over 7 million miles and through 48 states and four provinces of Canada. In his many years behind the wheel, Ron made friends everywhere he went, leaving a lasting impression on everyone.

A proud member of Lord of the Lakes, Ron attended church regularly, greeting members as they came in with his friend by his side. He also had a special fondness for plowing with his tractor and was a dedicated member of the Fox Valley Two-Cylinder Club. He was also an avid card player, with a particular love for sheepshead. When he wasn’t out driving or playing cards, you could find him watching the wildlife from his window, enjoying the birds, deer, and turkeys that passed by.

Ron is survived by his wife, Kim Zehner; children, Terry (Terry Anderson) Zehner, Brenda (Dave) Anderson, Dawn Zehner, Chadwick (Brandy) Zehner, Amanda (Nathan) Lee; grandchildren, Steve, Brandon, Trent, Dylan, Jakob, Samantha, Chloe and Clark; 11 great-grandchildren. He is further survived by many plowing and trucking friends sprinkled across the United States.

In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his son, Randy Zehner.

A memorial service for Ron will be held at Lord of the Lakes, 6090 Harbour S Dr, Winneconne, WI 54986 on Friday, October 9, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. and officiated by Rev. Kevin Heffernan. Visitation will take place at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. A private family burial will be held at Grace Lutheran Church in Winchester.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Lord of the Lakes.
