IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ruth Elizabeth
(Hot Mama Ruth) Andersen
April 2, 1938 – December 20, 2024
Ruth Elizabeth "Hot Mama Ruth" Andersen, born on April 2, 1938, in Joliet, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 20, 2024, surrounded by her loving children. She was the daughter of William "Buster" and Dorothy (McLain) Dudley and had one sister, Mary Hamrick. Ruth lived a vibrant and full life, residing in several states throughout her journey. In 1957, she married Marshall Prince, with whom she shared five children: Deborah (Paul) Calewarts, Carolyn (Peter) White, Charles (Kathleen) Prince, Laura Schoenauer, and Suzanne (John) Roob. Ruth was a devoted mother who cherished her role above all else. She was also blessed with seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, with another on the way. Her beloved dog, Elvis, was a constant companion in her later years. Ruth's life was marked by her kindness, humor, and a touch of sassiness that earned her the affectionate nickname "Hot Mama Ruth." She once demonstrated her dedication as a Brownie Troop leader by staying at a meeting until going into labor—a testament to her spirited nature. Over the years, she held many jobs but always prioritized her family. In 1987, Ruth married Ivan Andersen and she shared many happy years with him until his passing in 2001. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Mary, her husband Ivan, a grandson, and a nephew. A private celebration of Ruth's life was held on Friday, December 27, 2024. In honor of her love for animals, she requested that donations be made to the Neenah Animal Shelter in lieu of flowers. Ruth's legacy of love and laughter will continue to inspire those who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to all whose lives she touched.
