Scott Douglas
Benedict
October 22, 1962 – April 30, 2023
Scott Douglas Benedict passed away at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles, California on Sunday April 30, 2023, after a 5-month battle with cancer.
Scott was born October 22, 1962, in Oshkosh, Wisconsin and was a 1981 graduate of Winneconne High School. After graduation, Scott spent his early years working at some of the finest restaurants in Milwaukee and Chicago, and was very proud of his position at La Tour in the Park Hyatt Chicago.
Scott always had an affinity for art. He attended UW-Oshkosh, and Loyola University. After moving to California, he attended L.A. City College and earned an Associate Degree in Interior Design from Antelope Valley College.
Scott was very proud of his apartment on the corner of Hollywood and Vine that he had used his designs skills to turn into a beautiful space for him and his much-loved dog, Dot.
Scott is survived by his mother, Darlyne Benedict; brothers, Brad (Sandy) Benedict and Jeff (Emily) Benedict. He is further survived by two nieces, Kristy (Aaron) McMillan, Katie (Tim) White; two nephews, Sam and Will Benedict; seven great-nephews and one great-niece.
Scott was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents; and his father, Lawrence Benedict.
Scott's family would like to thank the staff at Cedars-Sinai for their extraordinary efforts to help Scott in his battle, and ultimately keeping him comfortable. A special thank you to Scott's good friend Thomas "House" Houchens for taking care of Scott, and managing his affairs while Scott was unable to.
Based on Scott's wishes, there will be no public service. Rather, a private family gathering will take place at a later date.
Mueller Funeral Home-Winneconne is assisting the family with arrangements. If you wish, please submit online condolences to muellerfh.net.
