Sharon C. Schmidt, age 65, of Winneconne, died Thursday, February 27, 2014, at the Omro Care Center. She was born January 16, 1949, in Berlin to the late Burger and Merna (Sorenson) Amundson. On September 27, 1968, Sharon married Rodney Schmidt. She enjoyed growing flowers and gardening. Surviving Sharon are her husband of 45 years, Rodney Schmidt, of Winneconne; one son, Terry (Hallie) Schmidt, of Winneconne; a granddaughter, Holly (Derek) Smet, of Neshkoro; one great-granddaughter, Maci; three brothers; five sisters; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Along with her parents, Sharon was also preceded in death by one brother and two sisters. A visitation for family and friends will be on Wednesday, March 5, 2014, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Mueller Funeral Home, 904 E. Main St. Winneconne, and will continue on Thursday, March 6 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, 8 S. Fourth St. Winneconne. A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Pastor Mark Albrecht and Pastor John Covach officiating. Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Park, Oshkosh.
