IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sherman W.
Brazee
August 11, 1933 – January 16, 2026
Sherman W. Brazee, age 92, of the Town of Vinland, died Friday, January 16, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was born August 11, 1933, in Waukau, Wisconsin to the late Harvey and Lorraine (Gehrke) Brazee. Sherm attended Winneconne schools. On October 5, 1957, he married Shirley M. Perkette and since 1962 they and their family have operated Brazee Farms. Shirley preceded Sherman in death on June 9, 2017. Sherman has missed her every hour of every day, and we are certain he is happy to finally be reunited with the love of his life. Sherman was one of the first farmers in Wisconsin to grow soybeans even though everyone thought he was crazy. For many years he served with the Town of Vinland Fire Department and later became one of its best customers (if you know, you know). Sherm collected John Deere tractors, full-size and toy. He was a member of the Fox Valley Two-Cylinder Club enjoying the club meetings and tractor rides with the group. Sherman and Shirley enjoyed going to auctions and toy shows adding to their John Deere toy collections and adding to Sherman’s collection of “stuff” in his barn. Sherman was noted to salvage and upcycle “stuff” into home décor that is proudly displayed in his kids’ homes. The family all knew to shop Sherman’s barn for parts, pieces, tools, and “stuff” before heading to a store. He enjoyed traveling each spring with Shirley to every corner of the U.S. He loved listening to old country and polka music, but his favorite was a waltz with his Shirley.
Sherman is survived by his five children, Kim (John) Speakes, Penny (Mike) Yost, Steve (Karen) Brazee, Bryan (Jodi) Brazee, Bruce (Cathy) Brazee; eleven grandchildren, Tyler and Ryan Speakes, Tracey and Emily St. Mary, Sam, Josh, Grace, and Gabi Brazee, Weston Brazee, and Nick and Jacob Brazee; three step-grandchildren, Nick Yost, Tessa Peters, Blaise Convery; four great-grandchildren, Shawn, Kylie, Eleanor, and Rylee; five step-great-grandchildren, Layna, Lucas, Jax, Zoey and Mia; a sister, Carolyn Brazee; sisters-in-law, Pat Brazee and Joan Brazee; and other relatives and friends.
Along with his parents and wife, Sherman was also preceded in death by brothers and sisters-in-law, Earl and Anna Lee Brazee, Arthur Brazee, Melvin and Anna Brazee, and Nyal Brazee; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Rueben Perket and Ruby Perkette.
A visitation for family and friends will be on Friday, January 23, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Mueller Funeral Home 904 E. Main St. Winneconne.
