Obituary

Stanley Robert Sperger, 94, formerly of Omro passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family and a lifetime of cherished memories on Friday, June 19, 2026.

Born on February 27, 1932, in Leroy, Wisconsin to George and Ida (Bauer) Sperger, Stan lived a life defined by faith, family, friends and generosity. He graduated from Oshkosh High School in 1950 and proudly served his country in the US Army in the Korean Conflict for two years.

On June 15, 1957, he married Lois Gose and they resided in Oshkosh until moving to Omro in 1965. Stan proudly worked for Kimberly Clark at Lakeview mill and retired after 34 years. During his retirement he enjoyed delivering firewood, volunteering at the EAA and supporting the local casinos. He was a lifetime and loyal Packer and Brewers fan. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church where he served as an usher.

Stan is survived by his five children – Debbie (Steve) Parewski, Mike (Brenda) Sperger, Kathy (Mark) Hintz, John Sperger and Jeff (Terri) Sperger; grandchildren Laura Parewski, David (Kim) Parewski, Jalaine Sperger, Eric (Marissa) Sperger and Georgia Sperger and great-grandchildren Olivia and Carter Parewski and Ila Sperger. He is also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Stan was preceded in death by his parents and his 3 brothers, Stephen, Andrew and Merrill along with his wife and an infant son Mark.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the caring staff at Brenwood Park Assisted Living in Franklin, Wisconsin and Preceptor Hospice for their wonderful care of our dad during his stay there.

A memorial service for Stan will be held at Grace Lutheran Church in Omro (720 Jackson Ave) on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at 11AM. A time of visitation will be held from 9AM until the time of service. A private burial will be held at Lake View Memorial Park.
