Stephen S. Roach, age 71, of Neenah, formerly of Winneconne, died Friday, December 15, 2017, at Atrium Post Acute Care of Neenah. He was born August 29, 1946, in Knoxville, Tennessee to the late Theo and Anna (Swann) Roach. Steve was a graduate of Lincoln High School in Cleveland, Ohio. From 1966 to 1970 he served his country in the U.S. Air Force. On July 8, 1967, Steve married Karon Sonnenberg and they lived in Maine and Cleveland until 1977, at which time they moved to Winneconne. For over 30 years Steve worked for the Winnebago County Highway Department until his retirement. He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, and family, traveling, and going to casinos. Steve is survived by his wife of 50 years, Karon Roach, of Neenah; two children, James Roach (Matt Gongwer), of Huntsville, Alabama; Tammy (Brent) Huppert, of Ellsworth, Wisconsin; his precious grandchildren, Makenzie, Damion, and Addison Huppert; one very special lady, Brianna Anklam and family; other relatives and friends. Along with his parents, Steve was also preceded in death by his twin brother, Steven Roach. A visitation for family and friends will be on Tuesday, December 19, 2017, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Mueller Funeral Home 904 E. Main St. Winneconne. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Rose McCurdy officiating. Military honors will follow.
