Susan K. Brooks (née Christensen) passed away on Monday May 4, 2015, in Oshkosh, Wisconsin at the age of 69. Sue was born on August 21, 1945, in Neenah, Wisconsin. She graduated from Winneconne High School in 1963 and from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh in 1967 with a degree in English and Library Science. Sue married Jim in June of 1967 and moved to the Wausau area where she was a librarian. Sue and Jim returned to their hometown of Winneconne and purchased the Arrowhead Restaurant in 1969. Sue was a fixture behind the counter at the restaurant for over 45 years. She never ceased to amaze people with her knowledge of trivia; knowing more answers on Jeopardy than many of the contestants. When she wasn't enjoying the musings of the coffee clutch, she spent her time enjoying sports, completing impossibly difficult crossword puzzles, traveling, and spending time with family. Sue is survived by her husband, James Brooks, of Winneconne; her sons, Steve (Tammy), of Winneconne; and Chris (Val), of Bonduel, Wisconsin; five grandchildren, Alexandrea, Ashley, Trenton, Kaitlin, and Dylan; sister, Sally Christensen (Rhonda), of Gilbert, Arizona; mother-in-law, Violet Krell, of Winneconne; brother-in-law, Bob, of Kentucky; aunts, Marge Krings and Mabel Smith, of Winneconne; and numerous cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Marie Christensen; and brother, Paul Christensen. A visitation for family and friends will be on Monday, May 11, 2015, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Mueller Funeral Home, 904 E. Main St. Winneconne, and will continue on Tuesday, May 12 from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Mara Rivera officiating. Burial will follow in Grace Lutheran Cemetery, Winchester.
