Wesley "Wes" R. Martin, age 63, passed away at his home in Omro, Wisconsin with his wife of nearly 35 years, Nicci (Borchardt), and his only son Dustin Martin (age 33, who resides in Milwaukee) by his side. He fought a long and valiant battle against colon, lung, and brain cancers. Through it all, he remained loving, positive in spirit, and steadfast in his faith in God.

Wes was born to Gerald and Joan (Clemenson) Martin in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. He was the eldest of five children and is survived by siblings, Greg (Debbie) Martin, Rhonda (John) Welch, Todd (Stacy) Martin, and Lori (Ryan) Radcliffe. Also surviving Wes are father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ronald and JoAnn (Kienast) Borchardt; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Hillary and Eric Quella, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and good friends.

Wes graduated from UW-Stout and was an engineer all the way through. He could often be seen studying the working parts of any object that was in front of him. His most recent challenge was working as an independent contractor for the historic Blue Origin rocket project. He formerly worked at DaVinci Engineering in Oshkosh, XRDi in Beaufort, South Carolina, Brooks Stevens in Allenton, Wisconsin and Mercury Marine in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin and in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, respectively. Wes was an avid nature-lover and spent many happy days in the woods, hiking, exploring waterfalls and trout fishing. He and Nicci enjoyed trips in their RV, exploring as much of the country as possible. He was very proud of his son, Dustin, and was happy when he'd join him on hikes in the woods. He was also a lover of music and vintage television programs such as The Andy Griffith Show. He was a talented (yet humble) chess player who enjoyed dirt bikes, go-karts, and race cars. He was kind to animals, unfailingly. He never met a vegetable that he liked, but was a huge fan of anything chocolate.

Burial took place at the Brooks Cemetery in the Town of Vinland, Wisconsin. No funeral services are planned for this time. There will be a celebration of life for Wes in the near future, yet to be determined. There WILL be chocolate.

Deep gratitude toward the Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic staff, as well as Aurora Hospice Program, for the kind care and support given to Wes and his family during this profoundly difficult time.
